1. Who we are

Myanna ("we", "us", "our") provides AI-powered websites, chat bots, booking systems and payment pages for local businesses. We are based in Wivenhoe, Essex.

For the personal data described in this notice, Myanna is the data controller. You can reach us about anything in this policy at [email protected].

ICO registration: Myanna is registered with the Information Commissioner's Office as a fee-paying data controller. Registration reference: [INSERT ICO REFERENCE]. If you have not yet registered and paid the data protection fee, do this at ico.org.uk and replace this line with your reference number.

We collect personal data in three situations.

When you contact us

If you email us or send an enquiry, we collect your name, email address and anything you choose to put in your message.

When you use the chat assistant

Our website includes an AI chat assistant. When you type a message, the text of that message is processed so the assistant can answer you. Please do not enter sensitive personal information (such as health, financial or identity details) into the chat. The chat assistant does not store anything in your browser.

Technical data

Like almost all websites, our hosting and security layer automatically records limited technical information when you visit, including your IP address, the pages you request, your browser type and the time of the request. We use this to keep the site secure, available and working correctly.

3. How and why we use it

4. Who we share it with

We do not sell your data. We use a small number of trusted service providers who process data on our behalf, under contract and only on our instructions.

We may also disclose data where we are legally required to, for example in response to a valid request from a regulator or court.

5. International transfers

Some of our providers, including Anthropic and Cloudflare, are based in or process data in the United States and other countries outside the UK. Where your data is transferred outside the UK, it is protected by appropriate safeguards, such as the International Data Transfer Agreement (IDTA), the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework where the provider is certified under it.

6. How long we keep it

Where we work together as a client, we keep the records we need for as long as the law requires (for example tax records for six years).

9. Automated decisions

The chat assistant generates replies automatically, but it does not make any decision that has a legal or similarly significant effect on you. A person is always involved in any decision about whether and how we work with you.

10. Work we do for clients

When we build and host a website, bot or booking system for a business client, any personal data of that client's own customers is handled on the client's behalf. In that situation the client is the data controller and Myanna acts as a data processor under a written agreement with the client. This notice covers data we collect as a controller through this website.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed. Significant changes will be made clear on this page.
